@mojo737300 . I …
@mojo737300 . I have been there in the wet season, and it sure does come down heavy, just like in North Queensland Australia. We have had 600mm in one day, and thats a real downpour, but houses there have low pitch roofs and are built cope with cyclones ( Hurricanes). Thats the newer houses of course, ( cement block construction- Iron sheet roofing) built in the last 15 years.

@armalite762 high …

@DarkSkysify. …
@DarkSkysify. Current Philippine house designs are definately not suited to a tropical climate such as in the Philippines. Developers are trying to sell the concept of a “European or American ” lifestyle, with construction methods and designs that are outdated by modern standards.

@DarkSkysify
The …

@DarkSkysify
The point I am trying to make is that house designs in the Philippines need to incorporate energy efficiency and “common sense design” principles that make the buildings efficient in terms of reducing the need for expensive cooling, reducing appliance energy costs and therefore energy bills. Reducing energy related greenhouse gas emissions

@armalite762 as for …
@armalite762 as for me , i like my house to look like as if i am in the states or a european style, it doesnt have to snow just to have a design like that, at 00:39 is just my favorite, because i just want that united states feeling , i grew up in the states and houses where like that

@armalite762 ; …
@armalite762 ; Further to my comment. The quality of the exterior cement rendering and the workmanship rendering over the concrete block in all houses that I have seen in Manila is “awfull”. Very poor workmanship, where walls are not flat and level and undulations and trowel marks in the finished product are visible and deemed to be acceptable there.

The Philippines is …
The Philippines is a “tropical climate”, Why do they design “European Style” houses with high pitched roofs ( its not going to snow there). They should get some ideas from Builders in Australia who have tropical designs suited for the climate. Google Plantation homes Australia to view ideas and plans.

I like a couple of them but in the main Philippine designers need to be locked up and then there are the colour schemes usually the BIGGER the house the uglier they get, too many split roofs…..UGH!!! TOONTOWN!

@6digit
i bought …

@6digit
i bought land in forest farms angono, rizal. They have a model house there and it is spacious,high ceiling and lots of open space. The price is $499,000. Houses in the Phil are small because of budget. when your budget is tight, so is your house, masikip. The only solution is limit the walls and make open spaces.

So instead I’m …
So instead I’m thinking of buying a lot in Batangas to build a house of my own design. I have to go back and explore the area and see what lands are available.

@philip2go I agree …
@philip2go I agree with U. I’m tempted 2 invest in a house in D Phils but none of D existing houses for sale I’ve seen in various websites tempted me. Poor interior layout, small bed/bathrooms/toilets, large balcony that can only B used @ night or when D sun sets coz it’s 2 hot unless it has a large roof cover. Filipinos R proud, some R 2 proud they have 2 display everything everywhere 2 show how rich they R – quite sad, really. No wonder why some houses R burgled, they R asking for it!

‘why is it houses …
‘why is it houses in Philippines are over designed and impractical inside?
I went to several model house… I am not impressed with the outer design mostly the interior has too many walls and doors? The living room is so small that you have no place to put up an entertainment center? Whats funny is the stair was built so elegnat yet the living room was so small? The cheapest looks like a guard house? And yes… is it a status symbol to show one has a washing machine?

MissTeaRae August 31st, 2010 at 6:03 pm

@philip2go LOL! …
@philip2go LOL! Nasa labas ba ang washing machine? Wala bang utility room sa loob? These design are very common in the U.S..

philip2go August 31st, 2010 at 6:03 pm

pareho pala tayo na …
pareho pala tayo na gusto walang walls? Kasi takaw space iyon di ba? Iyon bang kahit saan ka ke kumakain, living room, kitchen, kita mo lahat di ba maganda iyon at spacious? Ganoon yari ng bahay dito sa states… open ang lower area hangan patio… yun iba nga pati outside walls collapsible kaya fully open for fresh air to come? Sa taas naman ang bed meron encloser na parang tent, you can closed for privacy and quiet sleep, at kahit saan mo dalhin kasi me wheels puede mo dalhin near window etc.

philip2go August 31st, 2010 at 6:03 pm

sa totoo lang gusto …
sa totoo lang gusto kong bahay walang poste or wall sa loob, iyon bang pagpasok mo kita mo living room at kitchen, saka dining area walang walls aksaya lang yun ng space? sa taas ang bedroom wala din walls but the bed is enclosed with a canopy where you can raised it up in case you want privacy? at ang toilet open para kita mo buong room? And the shower room is elevated chest high at me deep bathtub and jacucci with outside and sky view? Para kung kasama ko girl ko kahit saan siya magpunta kita?
