Help finding jobs in Amsterdam?
Hi

I’ve just moved to amsterdam.

As a trained graphic designer, i’m finding it difficult to find work and in the meantime wondering if it would be possible to claim any benefits?

In the meantime, i’m pretty desperate to get any kind of work, so my questions are:

- is it possible to claim some kind of job seekers allowance whilst i am looking?
- what are the best recruitment agencies?
- are there any agencies that specialise specifically in design?

Please don’t get back unless you can genuinely help me. I’m here to get some advise – not to be judged – things are pretty tough as it is.

many thanks

In order to get any sort of unemployment benefits, you need to first get a BSN number through the Belastingdienst (tax authorities) then register with the CWI, who can also assist in finding a job. https://www.werk.nl/portal/page/portal/werk_nl/werknemer

You also need to have worked legally in the Netherlands for a minimum of 6 months before you are eligible for job seeker or unemployment benefits
